What are your student reps working on?
All student representative groups within the UniSC Student Senate work on a variety of projects, events and initiatives each year, as well as providing input into the development of policies and services that support students and advance the quality of learning and research activities.

2022 Student Senate Annual Report

Here's what your reps are working on this year:
- Pronouns project working to enhance UniSC systems for equality for all students.
- SLG Moreton Bay contributing to enhancing student mentorship for Pasifika students at UniSC and in the community.
- Contributed to the Campus Working Life Working Group designed to enhance campus culture.
- Delivering Meet & Eat sessions Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay campus.
- Delivery of the Student Leadership Symposium- Communication, Collaboration and Compassion.
- Delivery of the Student Sponsorship Scheme, including extending to self nominated conferences.
- Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) student survey, and UniSC executive consultation.
Examples of the student rep work in 2021:
- Contributed to the Campus Working Life Working Group designed to enhance campus culture.
- Working with the University on the Academic Realignment project.
- Gathered student feedback related to the new teaching and learning format proposed for 2022.
- Delivered weekly Meet & Eat sessions Sunshine Coast campus in Semester Two.
- Delivery of the Student Leadership Symposium.
- Delivery of the Student Sponsorship Scheme.
- Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) student survey, and UniSC executive consultation.
Examples of the student rep work in 2020:
- Working with the University to enhance consistency across course Blackboard sites, and the inclusion of key information in course outlines.
- Provided feedback on UniSC’s response to COVID-19, particularly around the new COVID grading schema and the delivery of student communications.
- Gathered feedback on student concerns emerging from the COVID-19 disruption and the move to technology-enabled learning and presented to UniSC executive.
- Delivery of the Student Leadership Symposium.
- Delivery of the Student Sponsorship Scheme.
- Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) student survey, and UniSC executive consultation.
Examples of the student rep work in 2019:
- Delivery of the Student Leadership Symposium.
- Delivery of the Student Sponsorship Scheme.
- Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) student survey, and UniSC executive consultation.
- Implementation of the UniSC Student Senate.
- Provide consultation on gender neutral bathrooms.
Examples of the student rep work in 2018:
- Development and delivery of the inaugural Student Leadership Symposium.
- Development of the Student Sponsorship Scheme.
- Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) student survey, and UniSC executive consultation.
- Hosting a VCP Forum themed Curriculum Changes.
- Members sat on various working groups to develop a Student Governance Framework.
- Presented UniSC Student Senate to UniSC Council and gained endorsement and funding to implement the UniSC Student Senate in 2019.
- Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) student survey, and UniSC executive consultation.
Examples of the student rep work in 2017:
- Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) student survey, and reporting SSAF recommendations to UniSC Executive
- Increased signage for improved wildlife awareness on UniSC Sunshine Coast campus
- Improved lighting on campus at UniSC Fraser Coast
- Hosting the VCP Student Forums
- Development of the inaugural Student Leadership Symposium
- Participation, feedback and endorsement of the UniSC Social Media Policy
- Provide feedback on Student Diaries
- Volunteering at RUOK Day
- Hosting Response Squad Pop-ups to encourage student engagement
