We do lectures differently

We’re for hands-on learning experiences

At UniSC, we prefer practical training to relying solely on traditional lecture theatres.

Our goal is for students to be ready for the workforce, prepared to step into their chosen career field after graduation – and nothing beats applied experience when it comes to learning.

We call these work experience opportunities ‘Work Integrated Learning’ (WIL), where students put classroom theory into practice.

At UniSC, students complete WIL as a part of almost every degree we offer. It can be in the form of an internship, practicum, placement, industry project or field experience where students can develop their skills, establish professional networks, and discover what it’s like to work in their area of study.

For more information contact us.

Work integrated learning can help you go from learning to earning, fast. You can add these experiences to a resume and professional portfolio to give you a boost on the employment ladder.

Learn while you live, and live while you learn.

We know many of our students have responsibilities they need to juggle, so our flexible learning options are designed to ensure uni can fit in with work and life.

Here are some of the options that could make uni work for you. As each study area is unique, check your course information to see what flexible study options are available.

Study modes

Part-time study

This can be a great option if you have other commitments that take up much of your time, as you can still make progress towards a degree (usually 1-2 courses per semester) at a pace that suits your needs.

Please check with Student Central for advice on part-time study.

Online study

An online degree can be a great option for students who need flexibility. You’ll complete self-directed online learning materials (podcasts, interviews, simulations, screencasts, recorded discussions and quizzes) at your own pace, at whatever time suits you best. You will still have full access to the facilities and services offered across all UniSC campuses.

Blended learning

Blended learning means students learn through a combination of in-person seminars and face-to-face tutorials, workshops or lab classes (usually on campus) supported by online learning materials which are completed at your own pace, at a time that suits you best.

What will you study?
