BUS707 Managing Across Global Cultures

To work in and with a multicultural workforce is the norm in an increasingly globalised world. This course will teach you how to understand the process in making sense of, applying your knowledge and to increase your Emotional and Cultural intelligence. We will look at cultural differences, but also similarities at organisational, department and individual level. Culture is defined in its widest sense as the accumulation of knowledge, experience, beliefs, values, attitudes, meanings, hierarchies, religion, notions of time, roles, spatial relations, concepts of the universe, and material objects and possessions: acquired by a group of people in the course of generations through individual and group behaviour. You will learn how to develop this soft skill and to apply this in the traditional and virtual workspace.
