ARTIST EDITIONS

John Coburn
Sunshine Coast
$1800

Price excludes GST and shipping

In 1998, UniSC commissioned John Coburn to produce an original painting titled Sunshine Coast. From the painting, Coburn made this limited edition screenprint in an edition of 100, also commissioned by UniSC.

Regarded as one of Australia’s foremost abstract artists, John Coburn explored religious and spiritual themes in his work. Adopting a style best described by the artist as ‘precise, clear and deliberate’, his works that include painting, printmaking and tapestry are recognisable for their bold shapes against and fields of colour.

His work celebrates place and spirituality, and Sunshine Coast is no exception. With a radiating sun at the centre framed by shapes and colours that reference the ocean and bushland, Sunshine Coast captures the beauty and uniqueness of the environment of this region.
