Arryn Snowball: Slack Water

Arryn Snowball
Slack Water

18 February—7 May 2022

Presented in partnership with Pinnacles Gallery, Townsville where the exhibition is presented from 26 November 2021—22 January 2022.

At the end of 2017, Shepherdson made 77 poems in response to Grant’s Guide to Fishes otherwise known as the ‘fisherman’s bible’. Slack Water brings together new and recent paintings, gouache studies, and experimental performance-based drawings by Snowball inspired by the poems as well as a growing understanding of what scientists have dubbed the Anthropocene—an unofficial term used to describe the present epoch in which humans have significantly impacted the planet’s climate and ecosystems.

Snowball is represented by Jan Manton Gallery, Brisbane, Nicholas Thompson Gallery, Melbourne and Nancy Sever Gallery, Canberra.
