Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Higher Degree by Research Scholarship

Applications are open, ongoing to suitable candidates.

This award is intended to provide additional financial support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to undertake their higher degree by research (HDR) at UniSC. The scholarship is provided to assist with students' general living costs.

This scholarship is available for the standard duration of a Higher Degree by Research program.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Higher Degree by Research Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. When applying you must provide a certified Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity (COA) under the common seal of a community organisation or statutory declaration 
  • Be Accepted for entry to a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at UniSC
  • Not hold an equivalent HDR qualification to that being applied for
  • Recipients must maintain satisfactory progress as a higher degree by research candidate at the University of the Sunshine Coast

Any Master by Research Degree or Doctor of Philosophy
Value

The stipend value for 2023 is $43,446.56, paid fortnightly and will increment annually.
