NCP Mobility Grant opportunities
UniSC has been awarded a range of mobility grants for specified short term mobility programs by the Australian Government under the New Colombo Plan program. Short Term Mobility Programs are usually run by an UniSC academic as part of a course and these opportunities will be promoted by the academic to students.
You do not need to apply for an NCP Mobility Grant.
Once you are selected by the academic to participate in the Short Term Mobility Program for which UniSC received NCP funding, you will be invited by the Global Mobility team to complete an NCP Eligibility form. This will allow us to determine your eligibility for the grant.
You will be advised if you have been successful in receiving a grant and of any conditions attached via a Letter of Offer.
Payment of your grant will be made to you prior to your departure on your Short Term Mobility Program, where you have accepted your Letter of Offer and fulfilled the conditions listed.
There are rules and conditions associated with the NCP Mobility Grants. These are set out in the NCP Mobility Grant guidelines applicable for the year the funding was awarded. However, in general the eligibility criteria to receive a mobility grant are:
- Undertaking an Undergraduate program (Bachelor or Honours) at USC
- Must be an Australian citizen
- Age limit 18-28 yrs at commencement of mobility project (applies to 70% of participants). 30% allowance for participants over 28 yrs per project.
- Students cannot receive a Student Grant to undertake a Mobility Project in a Host Location in which they have dual citizenship or residency rights, or in which they have previously been a citizen or permanent resident
- Not have previously received an NCP short term grant
- Must obtain credit for course in which overseas travel is a component
Note, where there are more students participating in a Short-Term Mobility Program than available grants, additional eligibility criteria may apply.
The New Colombo Plan supports study opportunities in the Indo-Pacific region.
