Machine vision has recently become an integral part of mechatronics field. It enables the interaction of robots with their surroundings through image analysis and interpretation. In this course, you will start by learning the principles of image processing. You will apply techniques like thresholding, normalisation, smoothing, edge detection, and non-linear spatial operations to images. You will further cover topics related to feature extraction and image analysis. You will implement vision-based algorithms in industry-standard software (e.g. Matlab, python etc.) and get a hands-on approach.
