Profile
Nathan Doyle has been a consistent figure in the Paralympic setup over the past four years and hit new heights on the back of a successful Rio Paralympic campaign.
The former swimmer took up coaching at age 17 and never looked back quickly progressing up the ranks in NSW before making his way to the Sunshine Coast.
In 2013, Nathan took over as Head Coach of Castle Hill RSL and experienced great success taking the club to their best results yet. During this time, Nathan produced several National Age medallists and NSW team members and himself featured in numerous NSW teams as a coach which lead to him being named a finalist in the "Coach of the Year" category at the NSWIS Awards in 2015.
After a successful Rio Paralympic campaign, Nathan was appointed to his current role as High Performance Swim Coach — Paralympic at USC in January 2017. Nathan assembled a relatively unchanged squad inherited under former coach Jan Cameron with the addition of three time Paralympian and Gold medallist Ellie Cole (previously coached in NSW). During Nathan's tenure, the squad has continued to strengthen to include the best talent across Australia, whilst tapping into home grown talent on the Sunshine Coast.
Rio was Nathan's first Paralympics as a member of the Australian coaching staff. Nathan returned with a successful campaign with two gold, three silver and one bronze including a Paralympic record in what can be described as a dream debut.
Not content with his results Nathan has continued to strive for excellence and take his chargers further than they have achieved before. Nathan believes strongly in the USC Spartans philosophy of Attitude, Accountability and Respect as non-negotiable on the road to success.
