Jake is an elite Paralympic athletes who competes successfully and consistently at an international level. He is ranked seventh in the world for both of his favoured events, the 100m backstroke and the 400m freestyle. In 2016 Jake was selected for the Paralympic team and became first Tasmanian swimmer to qualify for the Games in more than a decade. Jake made the final for two events, finishing 6th in the 400m freestyle and 8th in the 200m individual medley. Prior to his Paralympic debut, Jake competed at the 2014 Pan Pacific Para Championships- where he won a silver medal in the 100m butterfly and bronze in the 200m individual medley- and made the 2015 World Para team that travelled to Glasgow. In 2018 Jake competed at the Pan Pacific Para Championships where he won five medals- two in his favoured events, and three in the 50m freestyle, the 100m butterfly and the 200m individual medley. Jake is currently working towards the goal of making it to the Tokyo Paralympics. He is confident he'll be able to challenge for medals.
