Early USC offers can help Year 12s beat stress

Year 12 students have an opportunity to fast-track their university enrolment process with applications now open for USC’s Early Offer Guarantee.

USC Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Helen Bartlett said the program could provide eligible school-leavers and their families with greater certainty about their study future – long before final results and ATAR scores are released.

“Students can gain early admission into their chosen USC degree based on the recommendations of their school principals, who take into account their academic potential, motivation, skills, talents and passion,” Professor Bartlett said.

“This is such a beneficial option for Year 12 students, who can put some of the stress of finishing high school and any disruptions to learning behind them.

“They can lock in their study path for 2022 almost immediately if they can show they are on track to succeed in gaining entry to their preferred USC degree and have the right level of motivation and commitment.

“And for others, if things haven't gone quite to plan at school this year, university may still be within reach.”

Students have until 11 October to apply for an early offer guarantee to more than 80 USC undergraduate degrees.

Applicants do not need to be ATAR-eligible, however all early offers are conditional on the completion of Year 12. All normal course prerequisites and other program specific requirements also apply.

The first round of USC’s early offers will be sent to successful applicants on Friday 20 August, with further rounds made fortnightly until mid-November.

As soon as students receive an early offer, they can start accessing USC’s support services, including pre-semester academic skills and career advice.
