USC has so far made 999 offers of study for Semester 1, 2020, at its new state-of-the-art Moreton Bay campus at Petrie.

The mid-January round of offers was released online this morning by the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).

The most sought-after degrees at the campus are Nursing Science, Animal Ecology, Social Science (Psychology), Biomedical Science and Social Work.

Further offers will be made in late January and throughout February ahead of Semester 1 starting on 24 February. The foundation cohort for 2020 also will be augmented by another intake of students in Semester 2.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill congratulated those who have received offers to study at USC Moreton Bay and welcomed new students to join in Orientation activities in mid-February.

“A university education is a wonderful experience and opens up many career doors,” he said. “I’d encourage our new students to make the most of the opportunities that will be presented to them during Orientation and throughout their degrees.”

Professor Hill said the arrival of students at the new campus at Petrie would be a special occasion for the entire region.

“We see USC Moreton Bay as being the region’s campus,” he said. “The foundation building is full of the latest technology and will become the flagship for a full-service campus.

“This will be a game-changer, not just for those who are keen to study close to home but also for the local economy, and through the provision of facilities and new opportunities that are available to all local residents.”

Professor Hill said the recipients of various scholarships and bursaries for USC Moreton Bay students would be announced soon. These include eight Moreton Bay Regional Council scholarships, each valued at $8,000 per year for up to five years, and the Rotary Club of Pine Rivers Bursary worth $2,000.

Enrolment information has been provided to applicants online, with applicants encouraged to respond to offers by Tuesday 21 January.

Anyone who has received an offer to study at USC will also have received enrolment and study planning information in their offer email. Those who did not receive an offer can also contact USC’s Student Central for advice about further QTAC offer rounds.
