Students have again rated the University of the Sunshine Coast the best public university in Queensland for overall quality of educational experience.

National website Quality Indicators for Teaching and Learning (QILT) has published and compared the results of the Student Experience Survey completed by undergraduate students in 2016 and 2017.

USC ranked first in Queensland across four key benchmarks: student support, teaching quality, skills development and overall quality of educational experience.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill said USC’s reputation for offering students a positive and personalised university experience was reflected in the survey data.

“Our students consistently rate their university experience more positively than the national average across numerous measures, which shows that what we are doing here is resonating with our students,” Professor Hill said.

“Every student here is at the heart of what we do, and our teachers, tutors and support staff work hard to ensure students get the best out of their time at university.”

In the SES survey, USC undergraduate students rated five key aspects aspects of their student experience higher than their national counterparts: overall quality of educational experience 83.4 percent (79.3 percent national average), teaching quality 85.3 percent (80.9 percent national average), student support 77.8 percent (72.2 percent national average), and skills development 83.7 percent (81 percent national average).

USC has also consistently gained five stars in The Good Universities Guide. The 2018 edition awarded USC five out of five stars for the overall student experience, skills development, student support, teaching quality and learning resources.
