New degrees to be introduced at USC Fraser Coast

USC will offer first-year subjects in Environmental Science and Secondary Education through its Fraser Coast campus from the start of next year.

The new program is among almost 20 degrees and pathway programs to be showcased at Open Day at USC Fraser Coast on Saturday 8 July from 10am-1pm.

The event is open to all prospective students and their families, and provides the opportunity to explore the campus, attend program information sessions, meet lecturers and find out about career opportunities in different study areas at USC.

USC Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill said the University was continuing to expand its offerings at the Fraser Coast campus.

“From the start of next year, students will have the flexibility to complete the first year locally of USC’s Bachelor of Environmental Science, and the dual Secondary Education and Science degree,” he said. Students will study the remaining subjects at USC’s main campus at Sippy Downs.

“Environmental Science is ideal for those interested in managing and protecting the environment, and combines studies in science with areas such as plant and animal ecology, chemistry, hydrology and climate,” he said.

USC’s double degree in Secondary Education and Science will allow students to increase their career options with two degrees in four years of study.

USC Fraser Coast offers full degrees in Tourism, Leisure and Event Management, Nursing Science, Animal Ecology, Business, Commerce (Accounting), Marketing, Human Services, Sports Science and Primary Education.

As well as Environmental Science, students can complete the first year of degrees in Science, Social Work, Counselling, Psychology and Social Science at the Fraser Coast campus.

For information on studying at USC, attend Open Day at USC Fraser Coast in Old Maryborough Road, Hervey Bay on Saturday 8 July, and at USC Sunshine Coast at Sippy Downs on Sunday 23 July.

Details on how to register for Open Day information session are available at www.usc.edu.au/open-day.
