Ambassador roles to give USC students the edge

Four USC students are establishing their credentials as future human resources professionals after being appointed ambassadors for the industry’s national association.

Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) Queensland president Caroline McGuire said the undergraduate student ambassadors would made an invaluable contribution to the association.

Austrian international student Anna Brunner, who is completing a Bachelor of Business at USC SouthBank, will be an AHRI student ambassador at the inner-city campus, along with fellow Business student Logan Page, of Morningside.

Public Relations student Emma White, of Noosaville, and Business student Jessica Green, of Sippy Downs, will take on ambassador roles at the USC Sunshine Coast campus.

Ms McGuire said, “As the national association representing human resource and people management professionals, AHRI understands the value of engaging with those on their HR journey very early in their career.

“Our student ambassadors can communicate with and support other student members.

“They provide a point of reference for students and can help them understand the benefits and services available as part of their membership.”

USC Lecturer in Human Resource Management Dan Abell said the roles would allow the students to show their commitment to becoming HR professionals and enhance their employment opportunities.

“As ambassadors, they will organise a range of different student events on campus and help to identify opportunities for students and HR professionals to connect,” he said.

“They will gain a number of benefits by taking on the role, including access to the network of state councillors and AHRI convenors and free AHRI membership for 12 months.”
