Sexual Violence Research and Prevention Unit

Let’s understand, prevent and respond to this complex problem and reduce the extent and impacts of these crimes.

Sexual violence and abuse is a global public health concern that seriously impacts individuals, families and whole communities. The Sexual Violence Research and Prevention Unit (SVRPU) seeks to understand, prevent and respond to sexual violence and abuse at a local, national and international level.

The SVRPU works collaboratively to generate research that actively contributes to theoretical and empirical knowledge to guide policy and practice. The Unit aims to reduce victimisation and address perpetration through innovative and evidence-based knowledge and practice. Research is disseminated to industry professionals and to the broader community, bridging the gap between research and practice.
