The detail design guidelines of the 2012 Campus Master Plan are not intended to be prescriptive. Rather, they provide substantive criteria by which to assess individual development projects in a planning framework privileging the University’s commitment to nurturing, and wherever possible enhancing, the campus’ ecological systems, social amenity and academic identity.
As a consequence, in addition to the following detail guidelines, the relationship of new projects to the broader campus environment will be considered in terms of industry best practice and the design requirements specific to each development’s particular context and circumstance.
