Honorary Senior Fellow (September 2011)
Otto Klaus was named an Honorary Senior Fellow in September 2011 in recognition of his distinguished and sustained professional and voluntary coaching commitment.
Otto Klaus has an impressive football pedigree with professional experience in soccer as both a player and coach that spans 40 years. In 1978 and 1979, Otto was an Assistant Coach of the Socceroos and the Under 19 Australian team in World Cup elimination games. Between 1967 and 1992, Otto played first Division in Germany and Australia and coached various first and second division clubs in Australia. Otto has been a volunteer soccer coach at the University since 2003. He has demonstrated a high level of professionalism, integrity and commitment. All the students who participate in Otto’s training sessions refer to him simply as ‘Coach’. Otto is highly regarded and respected in Australian soccer circles and with our German partners and schools. Otto is the recipient of a University Sports Star of the Year Volunteer Award.
