Distinguished Companion (September 2020)
Mark Nugent was named a Distinguished Companion in September 2020 in recognition of his significant contributions to USC as Director of Human Resources and his support in the development of USC's workforce planning capability and strategies to align the Strategic Plan with the criteria for all human resources practises.
Mark Nugent has contributed significantly to the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) as Director of Human Resources since May 2001 until his retirement in April 2019. Mark has led the human resources function as the campus has grown from 608 students and 86 staff at one campus in Sippy Downs in 2016 to 1077 staff and 16,594 students at multiple campuses today. The exponential growth in the University’s workforce has resulted in a significant increase in the range, complexity and number of HR matters and projects to be managed. Mark has demonstrated outstanding personal skills and business acumen in responding to this growth including the development of the University’s workforce planning capability and strategies to align the Strategic Plan with the criteria for all human resources practises.
