Honorary Senior Fellow (May 2007)
Frayda Myers Cooper was named an Honorary Senior Fellow in May 2007 in recognition of her contributions to the University of the Third Age.
Frayda Myers Cooper (1923-2014) was instrumental in establishing University of the Third Age branches in Queensland. The University of the Third Age has been based at the University of the Sunshine Coast since 1996, offering those 55 years and over the opportunity to ‘learn for pleasure’ from a range of educational and leisure-based courses. For her work, Ms Myers Cooper was awarded an Honorary Life Membership by the U3A Sunshine Coast branch, and was the recipient of the Premier’s Award for Queensland Seniors.
