EO Online

The University of the Sunshine Coast is committed to the principles of equity and freedom from discrimination in employment and education.

The University has a range of policies and procedures to promote equity and eliminate discriminatory and harassing practices and to provide a means of redress where discrimination or harassment has occurred:

Equal Opportunity (EO) Online training supports UniSC’s commitment to equity. This self-paced, interactive online training program provides theoretical knowledge and a practical understanding of how to apply equal opportunity principles in work and study environments. This program has been developed for the higher education sector by a consortium of Australian universities, using real-life case studies and examples.

EO Online for Staff

All new staff are required to complete EO Online within one week of commencement. It is recommended that staff re-visit EO Online material every two years to keep up to date with legislative changes, and to use the program as a resource when necessary.

The training program is presented in four modules:

  • Modules 1 to 3 should be completed by all staff
  • Module 4 should be completed by staff with managerial or supervisory responsibilities (although staff without supervisory responsibility are welcome to complete it)

Modules 1 to 3 will take approximately 60-90 minutes to complete, depending on your familiarity with the content. Module 4 will take approximately 30 to 35 minutes. A module can be completed in more than one session. There is no time limit for completion of quizzes or limit to the number of times a quiz can be attempted.

Staff will need to register the first time EO Online is accessed. Select the University of the Sunshine Coast from a list of institutions provided and enter the following details:

  • UniSC email address
  • full name
  • organisational unit
  • staff (PeopleSoft) ID number (you can find this on your staff id card)

You will also set your own password for future access.

Staff are provided an opportunity to submit feedback on completion of each EO Online module. EO Online is reviewed regularly and staff comments are a key component of the review process. To report any access problems you can contact staffdevt@usc.edu.au or telephone +61 7 5430 2830.

EO Online for Students

Students are encouraged to re-visit EO Online periodically to refresh their knowledge, and to use the program as a resource when necessary. Students are not required to register their completion of EO Online (this applies only to University staff).
