Melissa Herdy is the Senior Mental Health Clinician for the Thompson Institute’s youth enhanced service, Myndset.
Melissa is an experienced Clinical Psychologist who originally trained at the University of Queensland, completing her Honours degree in Psychology in 1997. She subsequently attained her Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of NSW in 2007. Melissa has worked across a diverse range of settings including counselling children and young people, disability services, domestic violence services, university counselling services, private practice and psycho-oncology.
In her role as Senior Mental Health Clinician for the Myndset program, Melissa provides assessment and psychological support and intervention for young people with emerging difficulties with their mental health, as well as liaising with relevant stakeholders and offering clinical leadership within the Myndset team.

Presentations
Melissa has presented on a range of topics relating to student orientation, study skills, managing difficult customers, self-care for professionals, stress management, mindfulness programs and mental health training.
Melissa has been the Senior Clinical Psychologist at the University of Technology (UTS) Counselling Service and the Clinic Coordinator at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Psychology and Counselling Clinic. She has provided clinical supervision to psychology students on placement and peer supervision to colleagues.
