Leanda Garvie joined the School of Business at the University of the Sunshine Coast in February 2017.
Following an early career in science in diverse fields including animal ecology, horticulture research and molecular biology, Leanda gained qualifications and pursued a career in accounting. As an accountant, Leanda has worked for a range of businesses on the Sunshine Coast including a large multinational company involved in research and supply in the fresh produce industry. Leanda is passionate about educational digital resources and has supported the development of countless digital resources as an educational consultant for a range of digital providers including Education Services Australia and ClickView.
Having recently completed the Foundations of University Teaching (a postgraduate course focused on the principles of teaching at university), Leanda is looking forward to continuing her teaching and course coordination of undergraduate and postgraduate accounting courses. As well, she is continuing to engage in research activities alongside fellow accounting academics in areas of her interest, including the development of digital learning objects to support the understanding of accounting concepts.
