Dr May El Haddad has more than thirty years experience in clinical nursing, management, education and research in Australia and overseas. As a Nurse Educator for 10 years with the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, May managed 3 programs: preceptorship development, undergraduate nursing clinical placement and graduate registered nurse transition. May's leadership was integral to growing the clinical placement numbers, strengthening transition support for graduates, and enhancing the culture of learning across the health service.
As a Nurse Researcher, May collaborated with Monash University and led 2 research projects at the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service: 2017-2018: "Building clinical leadership capacity and reducing administrative burden for nurse/midwife unit managers". 2018-2019: "Impacts and outcomes from education and coaching interventions on clinical leadership of nurse/midwife unit managers: A multi-method study".
