John Rosenberg

Dr John Rosenberg is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Health. A Registered Nurse with a clinical background in community-based palliative care, John was awarded his PhD in 2007 for his research “A study of the integration of health promotion principles and practice in palliative care organisations.” He continues to contribute to this field of Public Health Palliative Care locally, nationally and internationally.

John teaches in palliative care, grief, nursing practice, chronic disease management, ethics, evidence-based practice, and qualitative research methods in face-to-face and online forums in undergraduate and post-graduate programs. He provides academic supervision of Higher Degree Research students.

John was the Foundation Director of the Calvary Centre for Palliative Care Research in Canberra in a joint appointment with the Australian Catholic University and was as a Research Fellow at the NHMRC Centre of Excellence in End-of-Life Care at Queensland University of Technology. His research has included palliative and end-of-life care for older Australians, palliative care in primary care settings, death literacy, Compassionate Communities, and community practice.

John has published widely and speaks to a wide range of audiences. John is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Social Sciences and Psychology at Western Sydney University with the Caring at the end of life research group.
