Dr Carol Smith is the Program Coordinator for Master of Teaching (Primary) and is a lecturer in English language studies. Carol's particular areas of expertise are language education P-12, curriculum development and early literacy intervention. She has worked at primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education and has extensive experience as a literacy consultant. Carol's current research interests focus on analysis of pre-service teacher training in English with particular attention to teacher / student interactions that promote powerful learning. Carol is involved in international research that involves literacy intervention models within the contexts of ELL, Special Education and general education. She is co-author of the text Literacy for the 21st Century (2015).
