Bonnie Quigley

Dr Bonnie Quigley is a molecular biologist/microbiologist/immunologist with 20 years of experience researching and teaching in industry, clinical and academic settings. Her dedication, expertise, and experience as both a hands-on researcher and project manager has resulted in important research advancements in both human and animal medicine.

Bonnie’s academic research experience has spanned a wide range of research topics and countries, including:

  • Investigating molecular markers related to mental illness – Thompson Institute, UniSC, Australia
  • Disease investigation and vaccine development in koalas – Centre for Bioinnovation, UniSC, Australia
  • Understanding the evolution and diversity of bacterial molecular machines – Imperial College London, UK
  • Investigating the vaginal microbiome to improve women’s health and developing diagnostics for human and animal medicine – University of Saskatchewan, Canada
  • Developing novel ultrasound imaging methods for endocarditis – University of Hawaii-Manoa, USA

Bonnie has also worked in industry (algae biotechnology), has a US patent and is passionate about teaching and STEM community outreach.
