Alex Elibank Murray is an experienced leader in the education sector having worked for more than 20 years across both the higher education and vocational sectors in WA, NSW and QLD. Her expertise spans government and community engagement and strategic development, with a proven record in building capacity through engaging students, staff, partners and regional stakeholders.
As Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global and Engagement) of the University of the Sunshine Coast, Alex works with colleagues and the campus heads across all UniSC campuses to realise our commitment to working with and for our diverse communities. Portfolio responsibilities include community engagement within UniSC’s region including engagement with Indigenous communities, marketing and external engagement, the Development Office which works with our donors, industry partners and alumni, the UniSC Art Gallery and the International office.
Having worked extensively in international education, including several years in Japan, Alex brings strong offshore networks alongside industry partnership development, campus establishment and growth strategy. Alex’s achievements have been entrepreneurial and innovative and recognised both internally and externally by her employers and partners.
Alex joined UniSC in August 2021 as Head of International. Prior to this, Alex was Executive Director of Federation University’s new award-winning campus in Brisbane, where she was responsible for the successful establishment and leadership of the campus, including business planning, student recruitment and marketing, program portfolio development, and industry partnerships
