Professor Kerry Armstrong is the Leader of the MAIC/UniSC Road Safety Research Collaboration, which is situated within the School of Law and Society. She is a registered psychologist and holds a PhD from QUT.

Kerry has over 20 years of experience translating organisational vision and strategic approaches into operational goals and leading successful teams to achieve organisational outcomes. Over the course of her career, she has successfully operated within multiple strategic visions and priorities including university, government, industry, and non-government organisations to set and achieve determined goals, purpose, and direction.

Kerry has received national and international recognition for the quality and impact of the research and scholarship she has undertaken in road safety and injury prevention. She possesses an in-depth knowledge of concepts, strategies, and issues associated with improving road safety in Queensland with proven expertise in encouraging the mutual exchange of ideas, data, and information, engaging partners as active contributors in program design, and bringing people together to build new solutions through testing and refinement.

Kerry has returned to the university environment following three years working with the Department of Transport and Main Roads and is excited to lead the RSRC with the vision of becoming the leading road safety research centre focusing on impaired driving, not only in Queensland, but Australia, within the next decade.
